No Guarantee of Security
While AnchorOne implements industry-standard security controls and monitoring, no security system can guarantee absolute protection against all threats. The AnchorOne standard is designed to significantly reduce risk, not eliminate it entirely.
By using our services, you acknowledge that:
- Security incidents, data breaches, and unauthorized access may still occur despite our best efforts
- AnchorOne is not responsible for losses resulting from threats that bypass implemented controls
- Your organization remains ultimately responsible for its own security posture and risk management
Not Legal, Financial, or Compliance Advice
Information provided by AnchorOne, including in assessments, governance reports, and communications, is for informational purposes only and does not constitute:
- Legal advice or interpretation of laws and regulations
- Financial advice or recommendations
- Compliance certification or attestation
- Substitute for consultation with qualified professionals in these fields
Organizations should consult with their own legal, financial, and compliance advisors regarding their specific obligations and requirements.
Framework Alignment Statements
AnchorOne governance reports may include statements about alignment with various frameworks (NIST CSF, CIS Controls, SOC 2, etc.). These statements:
- Reflect AnchorOne's assessment of control coverage based on our standard
- Are not official certifications or attestations
- Should not be represented as such to third parties without proper qualification
- May require supplemental controls or documentation for formal compliance programs
Third-Party Services and Dependencies
AnchorOne services depend on Microsoft 365 and related Microsoft technologies. AnchorOne is not responsible for:
- Outages, failures, or security issues originating from Microsoft services
- Changes to Microsoft platform features or capabilities that affect service delivery
- Compatibility issues between Microsoft services and your organization's systems
- Third-party applications or services integrated with your Microsoft environment
Assessment Limitations
Baseline assessments are point-in-time evaluations based on available telemetry and discovery data. Assessments may not identify:
- Issues that occur outside the telemetry window
- Devices or systems not visible during network discovery
- Shadow IT or unauthorized services unknown to IT management
- Security issues that require deep forensic investigation
Assessments document observable gaps against the AnchorOne standard but are not comprehensive security audits.
Backup and Recovery
While AnchorOne implements daily backup and quarterly restore testing:
- Recovery outcomes depend on the nature and timing of data loss events
- Some data loss scenarios may exceed recovery capabilities
- Recovery time objectives (RTOs) are estimates, not guarantees
- Organizations should maintain their own disaster recovery planning
Service Level Expectations
Response times and service levels documented in governance reports or communications are targets, not contractual guarantees unless explicitly stated in a signed service agreement. Actual response times may vary based on:
- Incident complexity and severity
- Availability of required information from the customer
- Dependencies on third-party vendors
- Force majeure events
Changes to Services
AnchorOne reserves the right to:
- Modify the standard as security best practices evolve
- Update control implementations to reflect changes in Microsoft platform capabilities
- Discontinue or modify features with reasonable notice
Material changes affecting customer environments will be communicated in advance through monthly governance reports.
Website Content
Content on the AnchorOne website is provided for general information purposes. While we strive for accuracy:
- Information may become outdated as technology and best practices evolve
- Examples and case studies are illustrative, not representative of all scenarios
- Features and capabilities described may vary by service tier or customer agreement
